Serie A MatchDay 27 / 2017 Highlights: Juventus Still First, Napoli Comes After Roma

In the center of attention in the 27th round of Serie A was a derby between Roma and Napoli. Juve didn’t succeed to make the double-digit lead in the standings, while Inter and Andrea Bellotti dominated on the pitches in this round.

The derby was played at Olimpico and Napoli defeated Roma with Dries Mertens’ fantastic performance. The Dutch scored both goals for his team in the 2-1 win. This win is very important because of the battle for the third place. Now the team from Naples came to only two points behind Roma.

Juventus won only one point in Udine against Udinese 1-1. They were even trailing but Christian Bonnuci scored an equalizer for the reigning champions. This draw isn’t alarming because Juve is too strong for Serie A and the difference between them and the rest is too obvious.

Behind the leading three teams, the things are heating up because four clubs are in the race for the fourth place.

Lazio defeated Bologna on the road game with 0-2. Ciro Immobile had an excellent performance, scored two goals. One in the opening phase of the match and the second 15 minutes before the end. Sky-blue from Roma are waiting for a surprise when Napoli plays to reach them and to try to jump over them at the third place.

Atalanta, AC Milan, and Inter are also hoping for the same scenario.

Atalanta played at home against Fiorentina. It was a game without any excitement or thrill and both teams split one point a piece without scoring a goal in Bergamo.

Inter demolished Cagliari, in Sardinia. Ivan Perisic was once again in the center of attention and was without a doubt the man of the match with two goals. Inter fans are chanting his name during the games and he is possibly the vital and crucial player of Nerazzurri from Milan. Since Stefano Pioli came to Inter he found a proper formation and created a chemistry in the team. Also Ever Banega an Argentinian was back in the starting line-up with one goal and one assist.

AC Milan defeated Chievo 3-1 at San Siro and although the result indicates an easy game it was totally the opposite. Rossoneri only managed to break Chievo in the last 20 minutes. The main player on the pitch was Carlos Bacca who scored two goals but also missed a penalty. AC Milan is currently on the 7th place which 50 points three less than Lazio on the 4th place.

We are going to remember the last weekend with another magnificent performance from Andrea Belotti who scored a hat-trick for Torino against Palermo,3-1, and brought 3 valuable points for the Bulls. The home team was trailing one goal but the magnificent Bellotti exploded and put down his name on the scoresheet three times in the span of eight minutes. He is currently the top scorer in the Italian league with 22 goals and all the major clubs on the continent are enquiring about him. The latest price that was linked with his transfer will make you dizzy. 100 million euros at least will be needed for the freedom of the Italian striker.

Crotone and Sassuolo played a game without goals. Torturing of the fans and a display of bad football was seen at this game, and we hope that we will not witness any more games like this.

Sampdoria defeated Pescara 31 with Bruno Fernandes’ excellent display. The Portuguese 22–year-old will quickly become one of the best midfielders in Italy and he is leading some Sampa in the upper part of the table.

Genoa defeated Empoli 0-2 and won 3 valuable points on the road. They scored two goals in the last three minutes of the match leaving Empoli just one place above the relegation zone. They will now have to be careful because although teams under the red line are two or more wins below them, this position is a tricky one.

To conclude this summary everything stayed like the week before. Juventus stayed at the top of the table. Roma is placed in the second spot, but Napoli came to only two points behind them. From fourth until the seventh place the teams are in three point span. At the bottom of the table, Palermo Crotone and Pescara can start preparing for the Serie B.
